We’re looking for a hands-on collaborative Design Director to join a well-regarded creative agency in Tamaki Makaurau. This role will suit a designer who takes real pride in craft, enjoys leading projects, and contributes positively to a creative, supportive team environment.

You’ll work across brand identity, experience design, publication and content design, as well as wider brand communications. The role also includes contributing to motion, animation and film-related creative solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining and lifting design standards, partnering closely with the Creative Director, and leading selected projects alongside Account Managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver design work to a consistently high standard, from concept through to final execution.
• Support and collaborate with the wider design team, contributing to a positive team culture.
• Lead specific projects in partnership with the Creative Director and Account Managers.
• Take part in weekly resource planning to help manage workflow across the studio.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
• High-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
• Relevant experience in design and creative agencies and a portfolio of work that shows breadth and high-level creative thinking.

Strong commercial understanding of the running of a creative business and being aware of the realities of budgets and deadlines is also important.
